The Department of Health in Pinellas County is looking for a self-motivated individual interested in a position with great benefits and working with an excellent team of staff. The right applicant will have computer programming work experience designing and supporting applications using the following languages: Visual Basic, C#, and HTML. The position is responsible for gathering requirements, designing and troubleshooting .NET web applications with SQL Server database backend; monitoring the success of SQL Backups; updating web content into state Content Management System (Cascade); utilizing Visual Studio and Adobe Creative Suites in application and website support and design; and designing and administering SharePoint 2013.
Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:
Skill with Visual Basic, C#
Skill with SQL Server databases;
Skill in interpreting and consulting with users to determine recommendations for program resolution or system design;
Skill in using Dreamweaver and Visual Studio;
Skill in preparing programming specifications and documentation;
Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate well with others;
Ability to think logically and to analyze and solve problems independently;
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in computer systems analysis and/or computer programming; or
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in one of thecomputer sciences or in management information systems; or
Two years of experience as described above and either (1) completion of a 720 classroom hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or accredited community college in an area of data processing (excluding data entry), or (2) 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of college course work from an accredited institution which includes four courses in computer science or management information systems.
Experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
Completion of a one-year program of study from a vocational/technical school in an area of data processing (excluding data entry) can substitute for one year of the required experience.
